Tottenham’s tough week has just got a little bit better as their club record signing opened his account for the club.
The afternoon began in the worst possible fashion as Ange Postecoglou’s side fell behind after just 23 seconds against Brentford in north London.
The Lilywhites, who squeezed past Coventry City in midweek, were punished inside the opening minute as Bryan Mbuemo fired home a fantastic volley for their second successive fast start.

But Spurs fired back almost immediately, as James Maddison’s effort was palmed into the path of £65m signing Dominic Solanke, who gratefully tapped home his first goal since arriving over the summer.
How many more will he get this season?
