Two master marksmen clashed on Tuesday as Sporting CP hosted Manchester City in the Champions League.
And it is ex-Coventry striker Victor Gyokeres who has had the better of proceedings in the first half rather than Erling Haaland.
Phil Foden put Manchester City ahead after just four minutes, before Gyokeres missed a glorious chance midway through the first half to level proceedings.
But minutes later he made up for his error, producing an excellent finish to grab his 21st goal of the season after 17 games and send the sides into the break at 1-1.
In fact, he is yet to draw a blank in a European home game where he’s started.
Viktor Gyökeres has never failed to score in a European home game that he has started for Sporting CP:

Will he still be a Sporting player come next season?
