San Diego FC are set to acquire defender Andrés Reyes from the New York Red Bulls according to MLS insider Tom Bogert.
RBNY will receive a package in the region of $750,000 for the Colombian defender, who departs after four seasons in the Big Apple, in which time he has made 98 appearances, scoring six goals. He has also been capped twice at international level.
San Diego are set for their first season as an MLS franchise, and in addition to signing Reyes, they will be able to choose five players from across the league as part of the MLS Expansion Draft, which takes place on Wednesday, December 11.
With those players still to arrive in the draft, and others from elsewhere, San Diego now have eight players on their roster.
Reyes is set to partner former Manchester United player Paddy McNair at the back, who has joined alongside Designated Player Hirving Lozano, as well as Jeppe Tverskov, Marcus Ingvartsen, Alex Mighten, Duran Ferree and Tomas Angel.
