A good night’s sleep is one of the most important things we can give ourselves to promote health and well-being. If you’ve ever been on a poor sleep schedule, you know exactly how much it can affect your day-to-day. A lot of things influence how well you sleep, but your mattress is near the top of that list. And if you love a blend of soft comfort and strong support, one type of mattress in particular is ideal.
What type are we talking about? A hybrid mattress! A hybrid is a combination of foam layers and pocketed spring coils. The coils help increase the longevity of your mattress and provide a firm supportive layer, and the foam makes sure you have all the cushioning softness you love. They’re more affordable than all-foam mattresses, too.
If you think that a hybrid mattress is the right step forward for improving your sleep, we’d love to help you pick the perfect one. Hybrid mattresses will vary in price, depth, materials, available sizes, sleep trial length, and more. And trust us, every feature matters when it comes to a good night’s rest.
This comprehensive guide will investigate the best hybrid mattresses in Canada right now and outline the criteria you should consider while making your purchase decision. Let’s dive right into our top five products.
The Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress has a lot going for it. One of the things that blew us away is the 365-night sleep trial. Many mattresses only come with 120 nights! You’ll get an entire year to test out your new mattress with no obligations. Amazing. Another great thing about this mattress is the lumbar support — extra coils in the middle make sure you have all the support you need for your spine.
The pocketed coil design of the spring layer also provides exceptional motion isolation. Whether you’re sleeping with a partner, or pets, or both, movement in the bed will never disturb the other sleepers. Thank goodness. This mattress will also be a good choice if you tend to overheat at night. The third layer of the mattress is a 2” gel-infused foam layer that keeps your body heat moving away from you.
Honestly, we have nothing negative to say about this mattress at all. It’s comfortable, supportive, and has all of the layers you need for perfect sleep. The only people who won’t enjoy this mattress are the ones who prefer a cloud-like feel for their mattress. This one is on the firmer side so it might not be the most comfortable option for you.
Overall, the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress is a pretty awesome choice for just about everybody. If you prefer a plush feel you won’t be as happy with it, but it’s well-suited to every sleeping position and it’s great if you have a partner in the bed. You can say hello to a great night’s sleep with this one!

Reviewers have a very high opinion of the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress. Edge sleepers are very happy with how sturdy the edges are, and the extra lumbar support in the middle of the mattress helps people wake up with happy backs. There haven’t been any problems with overheating or motion transfer, either. They’d all buy this mattress again in a heartbeat.

We like so many things about the Casper Original Hybrid Mattress, and we bet you will too. With strong edge support, you’ll be able to sleep comfortably on the edge of the bed without falling, and it’ll also be a whole lot easier to get in and out of bed. The flex coil layer is another great addition to this mattress — it moves with you and offers a ton of support so you don’t ever feel stuck while you’re trying to turn over.
The main selling point for this mattress is the foam, though. There are multiple layers of foam to create a dream-worthy sleep environment. The top foam layer is Casper’s signature foam with AirScape technology — it keeps the heat moving away from your body for a cooler sleep. The layer under that is a zoned memory foam that offers the perfect amount of support for each area of your body. You can say hello to perfect spinal alignment with this one.
We don’t have any complaints when it comes to the quality of this mattress. You’ll be enjoying the best sleep of your life on it, without a doubt. However, you only get 100 nights of a sleep trial, so if it takes you a while to adjust, you might want to find an option with a longer trial period. Also, this is one of the more expensive hybrid options out there, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.
Overall, the Casper Original Hybrid Mattress is pretty fantastic. You won’t get as many nights to test it out as you would with other mattress brands, but considering the quality of this one, you probably won’t need them anyway!

Reviewers have very positive things to say about the Casper Original Hybrid Mattress. The edge support makes it a lot easier to get in and out of bed without sliding off, and it’s great for sleeping on the edge too. The zoned support of the memory foam has eliminated back pain for many of them, and they’re happy with the reduction in motion transfer, too. It’s the perfect mattress in their eyes.

The Emma Hybrid Comfort II Mattress has a lot to offer. A dense layer of pocketed coils and a firm SupportBase foam guarantee that you’ll be able to move freely on the mattress without feeling stuck. Plus, they also help to reduce motion transfer to almost nothing — if you or a partner are restless sleepers, it won’t be noticed!
A layer of MemoryAdapt foam does a lot to distribute your weight across the mattress — not only will this extend your mattress’ life span, but it also helps you sleep more comfortably. An Airgocell foam layer wicks moisture and heat away from you so you can stay at a steady temperature all night. Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?
There are only two reasons you might want to continue looking at other options. First, this mattress is on the thinner side with a depth of only 10”, so if you like a thicker mattress/taller bed, you’ll be out of luck with this one. Also, this mattress is on the firmer side, so it won’t be a great fit if you prefer a plush, cloud-like feel for sleeping.
Overall, the Emma Hybrid Comfort II Mattress is another nearly flawless option. With multiple layers of foam and a dense layer of coils, this mattress offers the perfect blend of soft comfort and firm support. You really can’t beat the quality at this price point.

Reviewers have a good opinion of the Emma Hybrid Comfort II Mattress. The motion isolation is some of the best they’ve ever had, even people who have suffered from night sweats in the past are having cooler nights on this mattress. Some of them would prefer the mattress to be a bit thicker, but it’s a small concession for the affordability.

There are lots of things to appreciate when it comes to the Endy Hybrid Mattress. The affordable price tag is one of them! Even the largest sizes of this mattress are more affordable than the smaller sizes from other brands. We love that for you. You’ll get a ton of years out of this mattress, too. It’s made with high-quality materials that will keep you supported and cozy for more than a decade.
When it comes to sleep quality, this mattress has everything going for it. With open-cell foam and highly breathable coils, this mattress moves body heat away from you like nothing else. It also does an amazing job of resisting motion transfer so everyone in the bed can have a great sleep. Throw in some pretty special pressure-point relief and you’ve got a pretty perfect mattress, wouldn’t you say?
There are only two reasons we think you might not love this mattress. The first is the lack of zoned edge support. While the pocket coils do provide more edge support naturally than a full foam mattress, the upper layers aren’t designed to stay extra firm. Just something we wanted you to know. Also, with only 100 nights of a sleep trial, you’ll need to make a decision pretty quickly.
Overall, the Endy Hybrid Mattress is an easy favourite for us this year. It’s a great option for just about everybody thanks to its unparalleled motion isolation and breathability. You can say goodbye to sweaty nights and disrupted sleep because of a pet or partner in the bed. Finally.

Reviewers are very happy with their sleep quality on the Endy Hybrid Mattress. Some of them would have preferred a longer sleep trial, but most fell in love with it in the first couple of weeks. The motion isolation is superb and not a single person has trouble with overheating at night since they switched over to this mattress. The pressure relief is spot on, too.

Ah, the Simba Hybrid 2500 Mattress. Where do we start? One of our favourite things is the edge support. Whether you like to sleep on the very edge of the mattress or you just don’t want to slide out of bed when you’re ready to get up, you’ll be happy with this one. It’s also got tons of support in the rest of the mattress thanks to the five foam layers and coils. But it’s still got a plush feel on top. Imagine that.
Two other things really stand out to us. The first is the motion isolation. No matter how restless you or your partner are (or both, to be fair), the other person will never notice the movement! The motion transfer in this thing is essentially zero. Since this option is also incredibly breathable, you won’t have to worry about overheating while you sleep.
There are two potential concerns you might have with this mattress, but neither of them has anything to do with the mattress quality itself. The first issue is the missing size — this mattress doesn’t come in a California king! We’re so sorry you’ll have to miss out. Also, you’ll only get 100 nights to test it out instead of the usual 120 or stellar 365. Hopefully, you’re good at making decisions quickly.
All in all, the Simba Hybrid 2500 Mattress was an easy addition to our top five for this year. No matter what you’re looking for in a hybrid mattress, we bet this one will give it to you. As long as you’re not looking for a California king. It’s the only size that’s missing. We feel for your loss.

Reviewers have amazing things to say about the Simba Hybrid 2500 Mattress. It has helped so many of them alleviate back pain, hip pain, and restless sleep. The comfort is simply unparalleled, and even edge sleepers feel like they’re very secure and well-supported. They’d all choose to buy this mattress again and agree that it’s worth the higher price tag.

The price range for a hybrid mattress is fairly variable. In the smaller sizes, you could pay anywhere between $600 and $1,600, and the larger sizes can be priced anywhere from $1,600 to $3,000. In general, more expensive mattresses will have a more complex and sophisticated layering of materials, better longevity, and innovative technology for sleep improvement.
Most hybrid mattresses default to a medium-firm feel, but you can find some more plush models as well. Generally, you’ll pay extra for plush mattresses since they need more foam.
A sleep trial is incredibly important since it lets you test out the mattress without any obligations. The typical sleep trial length is 120 nights, but you can find some as short as only 100 days or as long as 365 days. We always recommend getting the longest sleep trial you can find since it gives you the most amount of time to get a great feel for a mattress before you buy.
Since many people sleep with a partner and/or pets, motion isolation is an important thing to consider. Some mattresses are better at it than others, so make sure you take a look at the materials and how they affect motion transfer to make sure you get one that suits your sleeping arrangement.
Edge support is another super important thing to think about when looking at a hybrid mattress. Every hybrid will automatically have better edge support than a foam mattress due to the supportive nature of the coils, but some have some extra reinforcement in the foam layers as well to make them extra resistant to dipping, especially over time. Edge support means safer sleep and an easier time getting in and out of bed, so we always recommend it.
