Here are five reasons you can’t afford to miss this weekend’s Serie A action.
There is no bigger reason to tune in to Serie A this weekend than to catch the mouthwatering top-of-the-table showdown between league leaders Napoli and defending champions Inter at San Siro on Sunday night.
Is there much more that needs to be said about just how exciting this one promises to be? Particularly after the Nerazzurri’s impressive midweek Champions League win over Arsenal.
Napoli, by contrast, are heading north on the back of a 3-0 humbling at home to Atalanta last week and will be desperate to avoid similar disappointment against another black-and-blue outfit from Lombardy.
Antonio Conte’s side have managed just one win from their last 10 meetings with his former club Inter, who have enjoyed more home victories in Serie A against the Partenopei than any other club in competition history.
The drama doesn’t stop at San Siro as on Saturday night, Juventus welcome Torino across town for the 211th official Derby della Mole.
As one-sided derbies go, this is about as dominant as any around the world, with the Granata managing just one win from their last 40 meetings against their old rivals.
The signs aren’t exactly promising that Torino can spring a big surprise and rare win at the home of the Old Lady (something they haven’t managed since April 1995) as after a promising start under new coach Paolo Vanoli, they’ve lost five of their last six in Serie A.
Although Juventus have also looked much more vulnerable over the past month after their own strong start under Thiago Motta, the weight of history is considerably on their side.
This season has been a rather frustrating one for Milan star and former Serie A MVP Rafael Leão under his compatriot Paulo Fonseca, who hasn’t always been willing to put his trust in the winger to say the least.
But on the biggest stage in midweek, he was given a chance to impress against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu and blew the Champions League holders away with a superb individual performance in the Rossoneri’s victory, which was earned largely thanks to his heroics.
“Italy and I are a perfect match,” he said on Thursday night in response to increasing exit links. “Milan is a beautiful city and I feel so at home here.”
He seems determined to stay and has once more proven his quality. His time on the bench must now be over and it is time to unleash him regularly on Serie A right-backs once more – starting with Gabriele Zappa.

It really isn’t getting any better at Roma.
Last weekend, they conspired to lose 3-2 at Hellas Verona and followed it up with another disappointing result in the Europa League when the 1,200 fans who travelled to Belgium for their 1-1 draw with Union Saint-Gilloise made it clear that the players’ attempts to applaud them at the end were not wanted.
Ivan Jurić’s future remains the subject of ongoing speculation and that undoubtedly isn’t helping either as he appears to be surviving on a game-to-game basis – not that the next game is a particularly favourable one as Champions League outfit Bologna travel to the Stadio Olimpico.
They continue to set new lows and defeat on Sunday would see them beaten by Bologna at home in successive fixtures for the first time since the late ’50s, something that would surely result in action being taken ahead of the international break.
It can be easy to forget that Italy international Moise Kean is just 24-years-old, given that he has already made five big moves in his career, racked up €77.5m in fees and won 17 caps for his country.
His career has taken some difficult turns in recent years but he finally looks to have found a happy home when swapping Juventus for Fiorentina this summer.
He has been involved in six goals (five of his own and one assist) which is as many as he managed in the previous two Serie A seasons combined.
If he is to find the net against Hellas Verona, where he once spent a spell on loan, it would be just the third time in his career that he has netted in three straight league games – and the first time he has done so since his time with PSG in 2021.
