Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has been speaking to the media before this weekend’s Premiership trip to Rangers.
Here are the key lines:
Goodwin says the opportunity to move level on points with Rangers is “a huge motivation for the players” and they go into the game with a “real positive vibe”.
He wants his side to “create some nervous tension” among the Ibrox crowd, adding: “We know the fans can very quickly get on the backs of the Rangers players.”
On United’s 13-year wait for a league win at Ibrox, Goodwin says “those records have to change at some point” and his side have “ticked off a few of those type”.
He notes Rangers have had a “difficult start” and the supporters “are not happy Celtic are so far in front”, urging his team to put Philippe Clement’s side “under as much pressure as we can”.
Goodwin says the international break came at a good time for United given the number of injuries they were carrying.
Louis Moult is back from injury and United hope to have Ross Graham available in the next couple of weeks. Craig Sibbald and Kristijan Trapanovski remain sidelined.
