A report by Randstad Canada has shed light on salary trends to watch in 2025, as well as the professions that could see the biggest pay bumps.
The recruitment company’s 2025 salary guide covers over 1,000 sectors of activity across Canada, providing an in-depth look into salaries for entry-level, mid-level, and senior-level roles across the country.

According to the report, cloud architects could see their salaries rise by 10%.

A degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field is typically required.
According to Randstad, “digitization remains an essential pillar in a rapidly expanding business environment.”
Those working in digital fields in marketing and communications can expect to see growth in compensation.
The report states that digital marketing specialists can see their salaries increase by 9%—from $68,000 to $74,120, on average, for intermediate positions.

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, public relations, or business is an asset.
Those interested in specialization within the field can look into courses or bootcamps that focus on areas such as social media, influencer marketing, mobile marketing, search engine optimization, analytics, or digital advertising.

Finance professionals can expect salary increases, according to the report.
The report lists compensation analysts as an example, which can see a 7% increase for intermediate roles.

Breaking into the field:
A bachelor’s degrees in accounting, economics, or business administration could be helpful. A master’s degree could help in specialization.
Those interested can also look at getting certified. Some accounting programs to pursue in Canada include the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Human resources is another field that is expected to do well in 2025.
Randstad credits this to the demand for diversity and inclusion management positions, with a 12% increase in salaries expected.
This means senior salaries could increase from $110,000 to $123,200.

To break into the field:
A degree in human resources is preferred, although those in commerce, business administration, arts, or social sciences are also widely accepted.
Those interested in advancing their career can also look at getting certified. In Canada, the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is the top certification for HR professionals.
To gain this designation, you require a degree, work experience, and must successfully complete an exam.
Automation technicians are usually involved in the maintenance of computer-controlled systems and robotic devices. Their work usually involves improving efficiency, reducing human intervention, and streamlining processes.
While their work usually transcends industries, the Randstad report specifies that robotics and automation are revolutionizing the manufacturing industry and skilled trades, and this trend is expected to grow in 2025.
This is due to more manufacturing and logistics companies automating mundane tasks, including sorting and packaging.
It also calls out skilled trades, technology, and engineering sectors as those experiencing “favourable dynamics.”
According to Randstad, automation technicians and electromechanics can see their salaries rise by an average of 8% in 2025.
