A Princeton graduate, men’s soccer program alum, and an NCAA All-American, Marsch accumulated 29 goals and 15 assists over four seasons. He led the Ivy League in scoring for both 1994 and 1995, earning a spot on the All-Ivy team each year. In his senior year, he guided the Tigers to an NCAA appearance, scoring a total of 16 goals on the season.
Marsch spent two years as the assistant coach for the Princeton men’s soccer team, working under Jim Barlow during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
“We have a ton of respect and admiration for the work Jesse has done at Princeton, for US Soccer, and for several teams in MLS and Europe,” said head coach Jim Barlow. “We are so excited for him to have this incredible opportunity to take Canada to a World Cup. Starting with the Copa America this summer, there will be some exciting international games to watch and see how Canada does against some of the world’s best teams. The rivalry with the US just got a lot more interesting.”
