The 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic is set up for moving day on Saturday at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit.
There are 75 contenders left out of the 156-player field that started Thursday, with those failing to get to 4 under par cut.
Akshay Bhatia and Aaron Rai lead the field by two strokes at 13-under-par 131, and are the only two players who remain bogey free this week. Bhatia, a 22-year-old from Los Angeles, is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour since debuting in 2019, including a win this season at the Valero Texas Open in April. Rai, a 29-year-old Englishman, has never won on Tour, but has two top-10 finishes this season.
Those chasing include Cameron Young, one of four players tied for third at 11 under, and Joel Dahmen (10 under).
Rickie Fowler is the defending champion, but shot an even-par 72 on Friday and sits seven behind at 6 under.
Tom Kim, the highest-ranked golfer in the field, was one of a few big names to miss the cut line.
Third-round play begins at 10:48 a.m., with threesomes teeing off from both Nos. 1 and 10.
The leaders ultimately did not tee off until 3 p.m. due to a rain delay. Because of the tee times being pushed back, the third round concluded on Golf Channel.
