THE teen son of an ex-NFL player was pictured with a bruised eye and a swollen lip just before he vanished earlier this month.
Bryson Muir, the 14-year-old son of former Colts player Daniel Muir, has been missing since June 16 and is considered in danger with an urgent silver alert issued by cops on Friday.
The teen was last seen leaving his grandmother’s house with his parents over two weeks ago, NBC affiliate WTHR reported.
Minutes after leaving the home, his parents’ car was pulled over by cops but he was no longer there.
His parents have now reportedly stopped working with cops on his disappearance after they failed to bring him back by noon on Friday.
Cheryl Wright picked up her grandson earlier in June after her daughter asked her to and noticed severe bruising all over his face, she said.
“He just said that his dad did it, but he wasn’t angry, but he wasn’t angry at his father. He told me that he deserved it and it was OK,” Wright told WTHR.
“So I told him that it wasn’t and that nobody should beat their children like that, not if they love them.”
Wright drove Bryson back to her home in Cleveland, where he was then reportedly picked up by his mother, dad, and an unknown adult male a couple days later on June 16.
However, before Bryson’s parents could pick him up, Wright reportedly called the police.
A couple of minutes after Bryson was picked up from Wright’s Ohio home, police pulled over the van he was picked up in.
But Bryson was nowhere to be found.
When asked about what she believed happened to Bryson, Wright said “the only thing that the police officers told me is that they probably put him into another vehicle and that car drove off,” the outlet reported.
“He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance,” Indiana State Police said in the alert on Friday.
There have been no updates on Bryson’s whereabouts since the Silver Alert was filed, but his parents are no longer cooperating with the investigation, officials reported.
Bryson’s parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, had agreed to bring their son to meet with investigators on Friday at 12 pm.
One hour before the arranged meeting, the Muirs allegedly pulled out of the agreement, according to police.
The Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for Bryson Muir on June 16.

The police were also unable to get in touch with Bryson’s parents for weeks prior to the arranged meeting, sparking speculation over the involvement of the “cult-like” church if which they are members
The property the Muir family lives on, as well as the car driven to pick up Bryson from his grandmother’s home, was owned by the Servant Leader’s Foundation, cops said.
The foundation is located on a 5.63-acre plot of land listed in Cass County in Davenport, Indiana, IndyStar reported.
Daniel Muir bought the land in 2020 but sold it to the foundation in 2023, according to property records.
Upon entering the property, residents are greeted by a sign that reads: “Welcome to Straitway Indiana-Goshen.”
Straitway Indiana-Goshen‘s YouTube channel links back to the Straitway Truth Ministry.
The Straitway Truth Ministry has drawn major attention over the past couple of years, as several former NFL players such as ex-Colts player Robert Mathias and former Packers player Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila joined.
According to Sports Illustrated, former followers reported “an existence ruled by an unbending adherence to the Old Testament, under the watch of a controlling leader who limits members’ interactions with the outside world.”
Women and children have alleged that the ministry mistreated them, and former members alleged that they lacked proper healthcare.
Additionally, the ministry is alleged to have mistreated members of the queer community and aggressively forced teenagers to join the community.
The website describes the group as “a nation of Hebrew Israelites (translated in the KJV as Jews) who are commandment keepers; obedient to Yah (God) & our savior, Jesus the Christ.”
“We are blessed with a vibrant deliverance ministry & life-changing truth from a true Jeremiah 3:15 Pastor. We praise and thank Yah for all things,” the description continued.
“In regards to what to expect from us – expect to hear things that will upset you. Expect to find things in your Bible that you have never seen before. You will be challenged.”
No official connection between Bryson’s disappearance, the Straitway Church, and the Servant Leader’s Foundation has been established.
