Shapovalov – Shelton: 05.07.2024 13:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Denis Shapovalov has won three of his last five matches. Three weeks ago, Shapovalov lost in the 1/8-Finals of the ATP Stuttgart against Berrettini in straight sets. Here at Wimbledon, Shapovalov won his first round match against Jarry in straight sets as we predicted. In the second round, Denis struggled against Altmaier, but managed to win in five tough sets. Denis was 2-0 up, but started to struggle with his tennis at the beginning of the third set. In the deciding set, Denis started well, and ended up winning the match. Last year at Wimbledon, Denis reached the 1/8-Finals where he lost against Safiullin in four sets.
Ben Shelton has won three of his last five matches. Even though he loves to play on the fast courts, and he loves grass courts, Ben never had any remarkable results on grass. Last week in Mallorca, Shelton lost against Jubb in the quarterfinals as we predicted. In the first round here at Wimbledon, Shelton defeated Bellucci in five sets as we predicted. After that, in the second round, Shelton defeated Harris in five sets once again. Ben was in both matches 1-2 down, but he kept his composure and successfully came back twice. During his debut campaign at Wimbledon in 2023, Ben lost in the second round against Laslo Djere.
According to the bookies, Denis is the slight underdog in this matchup. Shelton has spent a lot of time already on the court, having to play two five-setters. Shapovalov played two solid matches, and we believe that he is overall a better grass court player than Shelton.
That being said, Shapovalov winning is a value bet.

Struff – Medvedev: 05.07.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: 2-7
Jan-Lennard Struff has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Halle, Struff reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Jannik Sinner in three tight sets. Here at Wimbledon, Struff defeated Marozsan in four sets. Jan played aggressive tennis, hitting 60 winners with 43 unforced errors. In the second round, Struff lost the first set against Zhang. However, once he stepped up his game, Struff won three straight sets, and won the match in four sets.
Daniil Medvedev has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Halle, Medvedev lost against Zhang in three tight sets as we predicted. Here at Wimbledon, Medvedev won his first round match against Kovacevic in straight sets. Daniil saved all three breakpoints, and had a great serving performance. In the second round, Daniil defeated Muller in four tight sets as we predicted. Besides reaching the semifinals last year at Wimbledon where he lost against Alcaraz, Daniil never had any remarkable results on grass.
According to the bookies, Struff is the slight underdog in this matchup. Daniil has not shown much in his second round match against Muller. Struff is a very dangerous grass court player, and we believe that he will keep this match tight.
That being said, Struff covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Jan-Lennard Struff +2.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365
