AFC Fylde have parted company with head coach Chris Beech following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at National league leaders York City.
The 49-year-old only signed a new two-year deal in May after steering the Lancashire club out of the relegation zone last season, having taken over on an interim basis 11 months ago following the sacking of Adam Murray.
The team’s upturn in fortunes saw Beech given the job until the end of that season in December before being rewarded with a new deal.
Fylde have struggled this season, however, winning just one of their opening eight games to sit second bottom of the league table. Saturday’s defeat to York was their fourth in a row.
Goalkeeping coach Chris Neal and their former striker Nathan Delfouneso have been given caretaker charge of the club ahead of Tuesday’s game against Southend United.
In a statement, the club say chairman David Haythornthwaite will give further details over how they will move forward on Monday.
