The free self-guided tours feature 22 creative spaces of local talented artists and feature one-of-a kind works in watercolour, acrylic, oil, encaustic, wood spinning, and sculpture.
The one-of-a-kind visual experience allows art enthusiasts to see behind the scenes of the artists’ creative process and discuss the process and emotion behind pieces directly with the creator.
“Our artists love to meet the public and the public loves to meet our artists right in their own studio,” said event organizer and chair Gloria Van Schaik. “When it’s in your own studio you can display a lot of different pieces, maybe pieces that you did earlier in your career, and you can show the advancement of your art to the public.”
Featuring artists such as Carleen Ross, Álvaro Luis Arcé, Giselle Denis, and Elaine Tweedy, the two-day event offers a unique opportunity for the public to go beyond the limitations of a gallery show and dive into the worlds of the artists.

“It’s like two tours in one in a way because many of our artists also have beautiful gardens and they display their art throughout the garden as well as in the studio,” explained Van Schaik.
The largest in the event’s history, this year the Art Society of Strathcona County welcomes several new studios to the tour.
Starting with just eight artists in its inaugural year, the Artist Home Studio Tour has grown each year and highlights the variety and talent in the county.
Running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, a digital map and downloadable brochure are available at artstrathcona.com under the events tab.
