With so many signings this summer, and a fully changed side from the weekend, it was always likely a Chelsea new boy would get off the mark tonight against Barrow in the EFL Cup, and so it has proved.
The player to do so? Pedro Neto.
The Portuguese winger was one of three summer signings to start against the League Two leaders, albeit one was goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen, and he got his first goal in blue three minutes into the second half.
It was a very simple task for the former Wolves star, who tapped into an empty net after Mykhailo Mudryk unselfishly squared the ball to him inside the box.
With so much competition in the wide berths at Stamford Bridge, this could prove to be a perfect night for Neto as he looks to find a spot in Enzo Maresca’s side.
