Manuel Locatelli says that he still has no regrets about turning down a move to Arsenal after EURO 2020, and is instead happy with the way things have worked out for him since his move to Juventus in 2021.
The Bianconeri midfielder gave an in-depth interview to Tuttosport, published on Thursday morning.
Locatelli was one of the star performers at the EURO 2020 tournament, held in the summer of 2021, and earned himself a big-money move to Juventus from Sassuolo in the weeks following the final victory over England at Wembley.
One of the other teams in for him at the time was Arsenal, who have since gone on to provide sturdy competition for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League over the last few years.
Though he is yet to win the Scudetto with Juventus, the former Sassuolo midfielder insists that he has no regrets in choosing the team he supported as a child over Mikel Arteta’s exciting young Gunners.
“No,” he replied when asked if he regretted turning down Arsenal three years ago. “But I love watching football, and I like watching their games and I respect their coach, Arteta.”
