In a significant move to strengthen its North American network, Air Canada has announced plans to introduce three new direct routes from Vancouver to Nashville, Raleigh/Durham, and Tampa, beginning in the Northern summer 2025 season. This expansion is a part of Air Canada’s ongoing strategy to enhance connectivity and provide more convenient travel options for its passengers.
The new services, starting from May to June 2025, will feature Air Canada’s cutting-edge Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. With these new flights, Air Canada is catering to the growing demand for travel between Canada and key United States cities, while also offering greater access to the United States for both leisure and business travelers.
Air Canada’s service from Vancouver (YVR) to Nashville (BNA) will commence on May 1, 2025, with three weekly flights, gradually increasing to four weekly flights from June 8 to August 30, 2025. This direct service will enable Canadians to experience Nashville’s vibrant music scene, rich cultural history, and southern hospitality with ease, while offering Nashville residents better access to Vancouver and the surrounding areas of British Columbia.
Flight AC1310 will depart Vancouver at 1:10 PM, arriving in Nashville at 7:42 PM local time. The return flight, AC1311, will leave Nashville at 8:15 AM, arriving in Vancouver at 11:10 AM. Nashville is an increasingly popular destination for tourists, known for its music scene, including attractions such as the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. It’s also emerging as a business hub, with industries such as healthcare, education, and entertainment driving its economy. The new Air Canada service is expected to further boost Nashville’s popularity among international visitors, while helping to strengthen the tourism ties between Canada and the US.
Air Canada will also introduce a new direct service between Vancouver and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, starting June 4, 2025, running three times weekly through September 29, 2025. Raleigh-Durham, located in the heart of the Research Triangle, is known for its thriving tech industry, world-class universities, and innovative startups. This new connection will make it easier for Canadian business travelers and tourists to visit North Carolina, while offering Raleigh-Durham residents a direct link to Vancouver.
Flights between Vancouver and Raleigh/Durham will be operated by the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with flight AC1068 departing Vancouver at 1:30 PM and arriving in Raleigh/Durham at 9:44 PM local time. Beginning June 3, 2025, Air Canada will also operate a new direct service between Vancouver and Tampa, Florida, with flights scheduled twice weekly. This new route will be available year-round, offering Canadians a great way to access the sunny Gulf Coast and all the attractions that Tampa has to offer. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will operate both legs of the route, providing passengers with a comfortable, efficient travel experience.
Flight AC1064 will depart Vancouver at 1:30 PM and arrive in Tampa at 10:12 PM local time. The return flight, AC1065, will depart Tampa at 8:20 AM, arriving in Vancouver at 11:23 AM. Tampa is a popular destination on Florida’s Gulf Coast, known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant arts scene, and exciting attractions such as Busch Gardens and the Tampa Museum of Art. The year-round service will provide Canadian travelers with more opportunities to visit Tampa’s sunny shores, while making it easier for Floridians to explore Vancouver’s natural beauty and cultural offerings.
These new routes are expected to significantly enhance Air Canada’s position as a leader in transborder travel, offering more convenient options for both leisure and business travelers. By connecting major cities like Nashville, Raleigh/Durham, and Tampa with Vancouver, Air Canada is expanding its service offerings in key markets and tapping into the growing demand for travel to and from the Canadian West Coast.
Additionally, Air Canada’s direct flights to these US cities will help improve tourism, as travelers will no longer need to navigate long layovers or connecting flights. The expansion also reflects a broader trend in the aviation industry, where airlines are increasingly focusing on providing passengers with more direct, non-stop options to their favorite destinations.
Vancouver, often ranked as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, offers travelers a combination of scenic landscapes, world-class dining, and outdoor activities. As Canada’s largest city on the Pacific coast, Vancouver is a gateway to British Columbia’s renowned natural wonders, such as Whistler, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan Valley. By connecting Vancouver to key US cities, Air Canada is helping strengthen the economic and tourism ties between Canada and the US, particularly in regions that are increasingly popular with both international tourists and business professionals.
Each of the new cities served by Air Canada—Nashville, Raleigh/Durham, and Tampa—brings its own unique tourism and business opportunities. These cities are becoming key hubs for industries such as technology, entertainment, and healthcare, all of which are growing rapidly and attracting talent from around the world.
For business travelers, the new routes open up more opportunities for direct connections to major industries in both the US and Canada. Additionally, these routes will likely help stimulate cultural exchange, as the easy access to these cities will make it easier for businesspeople, researchers, and creatives to collaborate on various projects.
