Aleksandar Vukic was startled by a swarm of seagulls and failed to force an all-Australian final in an Eastbourne tournament.
After losing to American prodigy Taylor Fritz in a close match in Atlanta last July, Vukic put the world No. 13 to the test once more in the second semifinal before losing 7-6 (5) 7-6 (4) in a match that lasted an impressive one hour and forty-seven minutes.
But as day gave way to nightfall, Vukic had to deal with a swarm of seagulls in addition to the calibre of play offered by the former Indian Wells winner Fritz.
At the moment ranked no.81, Vukic played his last match on the 28th of June when he lost to world no.13 Taylor Fritz 7-6(5) 7-6(4)
in the semifinal in Eastbourne (draw).
