Wayne Rooney says a documentary following him at Plymouth Argyle will not be a distraction to the club.
The former England captain, who has been Pilgrims head coach since May, is the star attraction for the programme, which is currently in production.
Plymouth are latest football team to have a behind-the-scenes documentary made about them following the likes of Wrexham, Sunderland and Manchester City.
“It has to be at the right times and anything which we feel could affect players on a match day, the access won’t be there,” Rooney told BBC Radio Devon.
“I think it happens nowadays anyway at most football clubs – they have their own internal cameras almost everywhere, so I don’t think it’s any different for the players or a shock for the players to have cameras round.
“I think once they’ll get used it it’s not an issue.”
It has yet to be announced which platform or television channel will screen the programme, but Rooney says there are “big brands looking to take it”.
He says the show will be beneficial for the club both in terms of exposure and commercially.
“I think for the football club financially it will help, which is really important for us where we’re at,” he added, ahead of Friday’s Championship fixture against Watford.
“But also from a fans point of view – if I’m a fan of the football club I’d be really intrigued to watch.
“We had to take everything into account but we felt the positives outweighed the negatives.”
