Comesana – Walton: 04.07.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Francisco Comesana has lost four of his last five matches. Last week, Comesana tried to qualify for the ATP Eastbourne. He lost in the first qualifying round against Broom in three sets. This was also his first-ever match on the grass court. Here at Wimbledon, Comesana upset Rublev in the first round. This was also his first-ever main-draw Grand Slam match. Comesana played outside of this world. He ended up having 46 winners with 38 unforced errors. This was definitely his biggest match of his young career. The young Argentinian has spent most of his career playing at the challenger tour level, mostly on clay.
Adam Walton has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Mallorca, Walton reached the 1/8-Finals where he lost against Jubb as we predicted. En route to the 1/8-Finals, Walton fought through the qualifying tournament. He won all of his matches in straight sets, and showed great tennis throughout the tournament. Here at Wimbledon, Walton won his first round match against Coria in straight sets. It was overall a low-quality match. Adam had his grass court debut this season in Surbiton, where he lost against Dan Evans in three tight sets.
According to the bookies, Comesana is the underdog in this matchup. Based on his first round performance, we believe that this should be at least a 50-50 match. Comesana played great tennis, and did not look scared at all.
That being said, Comesana covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Djokovic – Fearnley: 04.07.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Novak Djokovic has won four of his last five matches. After he had to retire due to his knee injury before his quarterfinal match against Casper Ruud, Novak underwent surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus. Less than a month after knee surgery, Novak won his first round match at Wimbledon, winning against Kopriva in straight sets. Djokovic dominated from the very start, and looked 100% fit. With such a first round performance, Novak became one of the biggest favorites to lift the title here in London. Last year at Wimbledon, Djokovic lost in the final against Carlos Alcaraz in five tough sets.
Jacob Fearnley has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Fearnley won the challenger title in Nottingham. The young Brit was granted a wild card here at Wimbledon. In his first round match, Fearnley defeated Moro Canas in straight tight sets. Jacob was great under pressure, saving all three breakpoints. In the third set, Fearnley won through the tiebreak, winning the tiebreak 14-12.
According to the bookies, Djokovic is the big favorite in this matchup. Looking at his first round performance, we believe that he will get past Fearnely easily as well. We also believe that he will try to spend as little time as possible on the court, due to his recent knee injury.
That being said, Djokovic covering the games handicap is a value bet.
