Mpetshi Perricard – Ruusuvuori: 06.07.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has won four of his last five matches. Here at Wimbledon, Mpetshi fought through the qualifying tournament. However, he failed to qualify, losing in the final qualifying round against Janvier. Giovanni entered the main-draw as a lucky loser. In the first round, Giovanni upset Korda in five sets, hitting 51 aces. After that, Mpetshi easily defeated Nishoka in the second round. He saved both breakpoints, and had another great serving performance.
Emil Ruusuvuori has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Ruusuvuori lost in the second round against Shang in three sets. Here at Wimbledon, Emil won his first round match against McDonald in five sets. Ruusuvuori was 1-2 down, and even had to save two straight match points in the fourth set. However, he stayed calm and turned the match around. In the second round, Ruusuvuori defeated Tsitsipas in four sets. It was another great performance from the Finn. Last year at Wimbledon, Emil lost in the first round against Wawrinka.
According to the bookies, Mpetshi is the slight favorite in this matchup. Both players have shown great tennis so far. We expect a very tight match, with both players winning their service games easily.
That being said, over games is a value bet.

Djokovic – Popyrin: 06.07.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-0
Novak Djokovic has won four of his last five matches. After he had to retire due to his knee injury before his quarterfinal match against Casper Ruud, Novak underwent surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus. Less than a month after knee surgery, Novak won his first round match at Wimbledon, winning against Kopriva in straight sets. After that, Novak had it tough against Fearnley in the second round of the tournament. Djokovic won in four tight sets, and his on-court movement looked limited. Last year at Wimbledon, Djokovic lost in the final against Carlos Alcaraz in five tough sets.
Alexei Popyrin has won three of his last five matches. Three weeks ago in London, Popyrin lost in the first round against Murray in three sets. Here at Wimbledon, Popyrin won his first round match against Monteiro in four sets. After that, Alexei was 1-2 down against Etcheverry, but managed to fight back and win the match in five sets. Popyrin ended the match by hitting 65 winners with 57 unforced errors. Last year at Wimbledon, Popyrin lost in the first round against Stricker.
According to the bookies, Popyrin is the huge underdog in this matchup. Novak did not look 100% ready in his second round match. We believe that Popyrin will have a small chance against him, just because he is not fully ready.
That being said, Popyrin covering the games handicap is a value bet.
