Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman was a hot topic in transfer rumors all summer, with FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain among the clubs reportedly interested in him.
Barcelona’s manager is Hansi Flick, who coached Coman with the Bavarian side and PSG, his boyhood club. So, there’s a connection as to why these clubs reportedly had an interest in Coman.
However, another club was in the mix for the player as Al-Hilal made a last-ditch effort to secure the Frenchman. Nonetheless, the player wasn’t interested in leaving European football this summer.
CaughtOffside reported (h/t Le10Sport) that Al-Hilal made a significant offer to Coman to entice him to move to Saudi Arabia. However, the Bayern Munich winger wasn’t keen on leaving Europe.
Coman, a product of PSG’s academy, reportedly turned down the offer and chose to remain at Bayern this summer. It remains to be seen if his suitors will revisit the situation in the winter or next summer.
Last season, Coman made 27 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring five goals and recording three assists. Coman left PSG in 2014 and joined Juventus, but he was loaned out to Bayern Munich in 2015 and has been with the German giants ever since.
