BBC Sport football news reporter Nick Mashiter says Liverpool‘s lack of signings so far in this transfer window should not be a concern and it is better for the club lon term than “buying rashly”.
“They are shopping in a very small pool,” said Mashiter on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast. “If they want to get better then they need players that will elevate them and there are not many players available that can do that.
“We have seen in the past that Liverpool have bought rashly and it does not seem like that will happen in this era. It is not a surprise that they have waited in this window and been patient. That should not be criticised because everyone realistically always wants things yesterday.
“Arne Slot has needed time to assess his squad and he has still only had a few weeks because of the Euros and Copa America to do that.
“Making signings out of panic does not help with that transition.”
