Brentford made it two successive chaotic home matches as they beat Ipswich Town in added time at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Thomas Frank’s side left it very late to seal victory as Bryan Mbeumo’s left-footed cross into the box evaded everyone and nestled into the bottom corner in the 96th minute.
Mbeumo has been a consistently excellent performer for the Bees this season, scoring eight league goals.
He has successfully converted his last seven penalties in the Premier League and only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (11) has scored more in the current campaign.
Mbeumo has now netted in each of his last five league home matches (six goals in total), the first time a player has done so for Brentford after Mbeumo himself between November 2019 and January 2020.
Brentford are currently 10th in the table and as long as the goals continue to flow from Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, the Bees may be targeting a top-half finish.
