Devante Adams going to the Jets.
Matt.
What do you think about this?
What do you think about the impact it has on Garrett Wilson?
Mike Williams might be on the block it seems like.
So how do you feel about this trade going to the Jets?
They’re better now with Devante Adams in the mix here.
Um I did since before we did the show start charting some Devante Adams for reception perception like, you know, you can maybe say he’s a little bit less of a player than he was at his peak.
He’s in his thirties.
That’s kind of understandable.
I don’t think he’s quite as explosive as he was in that.
Like true, true Devante Adams, I am the best receiver in the NFL.
But again, we’re talking about a guy that in reception perception has been like a 99th percentile finisher in success rate versus man and press if he’s down to like the 90th or 88th percentile, something like that.
I know what a bummer.
It’s certainly better than what they’ve been dealing with uh there in New York, like I said with Mike Williams, you know, Williams was a total reclamation project, man.
I think taking Adams and putting him in that ex receiver position is gonna be a huge upgrade just because of the way this offense wants to play too.
We’ve talked about all the static iso routes like getting a guy who’s, who is the route runner, who is the technician that Amari Cooper is not in that conversation we had like, I think it’s gonna be a big upgrade for this offense in general.
Plus, like with the way they’ve used Garrett Wilson, it’s been a lot of like off ball stuff.
It’s been a lot of in the slot in motion.
It’s, it’ll be nice when those can actually turn into downfield routes now as opposed to just the constant little Mickey mouse, gimme not mickey mouse, but like the quick hitting, uh quick game type stuff that Rod just wants to do.
Exactly.
Like Adams can do that stuff from the ex receiver spot, allowing them to work off more like high, low concepts with Garrett Wilson.
So, um, you know, obviously he’s not gonna get as many targets as he uh he was before there, but I think the efficiency of those looks could potentially go up.
