Canada’s Bite Beauty took to social media this week to announce it is going out of business following a decade in the industry.
The Canadian cosmetics label said that it would be closing up shop later this year, but did not provide an official date.
“We are sad to share that Bite Beauty will be closing later this year,” Bite shared with its followers. “Thank you for the past ten years of love, growth and fun. You have always been our ultimate inspiration.”
The brand, known for its lip products made with natural and organic ingredients, shared one bright spot; Bite’s nine Lip Lab destinations – where customers can customise their own lip product – will remain open.
“With nine locations and more on the way, Lip Lab, our custom lipstick experience, isn’t going anywhere! Stay tuned for more exciting news to come,” Bite wrote.
The custom lipstick shops are located in Toronto, Canada and across the US including in Brooklyn, Soho, Los Angeles San Francisco and Las Vegas.
Bite Beauty was founded by Susanne Langmuir in 2011 and launched in 2012. It was later acquired in 2014 by LVMH‘s Kendo, which equally owns brands like Kat Von D Beauty, Olehenriksen and Fenty Beauty by Rihanna.
In 2020, it announced plans to go 100% vegan and launched into the complexion category, with a new collection of products.
