Amir Okhovat’s journey in Canada continued to evolve as he sought guidance and insight into the hospitality and tourism industry. Referred by the ISSofBC team, Amir aimed to determine whether to pursue employment or self-employment.  

Our team provided Amir with valuable information about the hospitality and tourism industry job market. With the ISSofBC’s assistance, Amir participated in an informative interview and mentoring session with an employer. Impressed by Amir’s knowledge of Western Canada’s tourist destinations and qualifications, the employer recommended him for an interview with another department’s hiring manager.  

The interview was successful, and Amir was offered a shadow work opportunity on a bus tour. He is now scheduled for another assessment with the same employer. Amir’s story exemplifies how ISSofBC’s support and guidance can help newcomers navigate their career paths and succeed.
