The identities of the celebrities hiding behind the Spag Bol and Pegasus costumes on The Masked Singer have been revealed.
Broadcaster and journalist Kate Garraway was revealed as the celebrity inside the Spag Bol costume while Pegasus turned out to be Great British Bake Off star Dame Prue Leith.
Garraway’s costume was a plate of spaghetti covered in glittery bolognaise sauce, and she sang Geri Halliwell’s hit Look At Me.
The Good Morning Britain host took off her mask when the show returned to ITV1 on Sunday night, after she was selected to be eliminated in last weekend’s episode.
Speaking to ITVX and YouTube spin-off series The After Mask, she said: “I can’t sing and I kept telling them (the production team) that and they said it doesn’t matter.
“Just to have an incredible chance to come out dressed as spaghetti and waddle around trying to sing.”
Garraway, 57, added: “It’s been so much fun and everybody’s been great.
“There is nothing better than being Spag Bol.
“It’s something that I’ve realised now was there right from childhood, it was a dream. At last it’s been realised.”
Asked if she cuts her spaghetti or twists it around the fork when eating, Garraway told The After Mask host Harriet Rose: “I like to do a bit of both.
“I like to do a little bit of trimming if it’s excessive, especially in company, but then I give it a good old twist.
“You’ve got to be elegant, haven’t you?”
Before leaving the show, Garraway addressed singer Halliwell, joking: “Please don’t sue!”
Dame Prue had to drop her Pegasus mask on Sunday night after a correct guess by Jonathan Ross.
Speaking to ITVX and The After Mask, the 84-year-old culinary celebrity said singing on the show had been “the most amazing experience”.
She added: “I’ve never sung a note. I’m tone deaf.
“I have been having lessons and I’ve got slowly able to at least make a noise.
“Anna (one of the voice coaches on the show) was so encouraging and so lovely I would like her to just stick with me for the rest of my life!”
She told The After Mask she chose to take on Gordon MacRae’s Oh, What A Beautiful Morning for The Masked Singer, saying: “I don’t know very many songs and I have known that one since my childhood.”
Puffer Fish, Toad In The Hole, Wolf, Bush and Bear are the contestants who made it safely through Sunday night’s episode.
