Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase said he plays some golf during the offseason, but “it’s not like I’m decent.”
But one thing he’s done on the golf course that many golfers haven’t experienced, he told reporters Thursday, is hit a hole-in-one.
He did it years ago, he said. The third time he ever played golf. In Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. With his agent and Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk watching.
Chase said he hit a 9-iron about 100 yards for an ace. “It rolled up the hill, it came right down, it came right in the hole. … I couldn’t believe I did it.”

Chase also spoke Thursday about teammate and fellow receiver Tee Higgins.
“I feel like Tee deserves to be here. He wants to be here,” Chase said. “But at the end of the day, that’s not in my control. I just hope for the best for him. I hope he can stay. But who knows what they’ll do to replace Tee. I’m not saying they will but – there’ll be a lot going on. At the end of the day I’ve just been with him for this long. We’ve built chemistry this long. The chemistry with Joe (Burrow), so the chemistry is there already. So it’s all about how they want to play it.”
