HADLEIGH & Thundersley suffered a four wicket defeat against Colchester in a low scoring Essex League Premier Division clash.
Hadleigh opted to bat first but were dismissed for just 91 with Adam Dobson, batting at nine, top scoring with 34 not out.
In reply, Colchester made it home for the loss of six wickets despite the best efforts of Dobson who took 4/36.
The defeat leaves Hadleigh second from bottom in the standings.
In Division One, in-form Billericay secured a six wicket win against Harold Wood.
Second placed Billericay put Harold Wood into bat after winning the toss and dismissed the visitors for 142.
Ross Poulton (4/22), Joe Carson (3/18) and Arjun Bhardwaj (3/25) all impressed with the ball before Billericay reached the required total for the loss of four wickets.
Bhardwaj led the way for Billericay with 55 not out.
In Division Two, table-topping Old Southendian & Southchurch beat rock bottom Horndon on the Hill by seven wickets.
Horndon were dismissed for 244 after batting first.
Ahsan Yousaf took 6/63 for Southendian while Hardik Varma claimed 3/66 before the hosts immediately impressed with the bat.
Opener Hafiz Yawer Afzal top scored with 102 while Hardik Varma added an important 58 not out.
Elsewhere, sixth placed Westcliff on Sea drew at Old Brentwoods.
Westcliff opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored 232/9.
Skipper Joe Robbins scored 63 and Hammad Ul Hassan 47 before Old Brentwoods finished their innings on 216/8.
Adnan Khan took 4/53 for Westcliff who are sixth in the table.
In Division Three, third placed Leigh on Sea suffered a nine wicket defeat at table-topping Bentley.
Leigh scored 216/7 in their innings with Sevriano Cupido leading the way with 41 before Bentley made it home for the loss of just one wicket.
Sixth placed Wickford were also beaten as they lost by six wickets to Stanford le Hope.
Wickford were all out for 145 with opener Zisan Abedin top scoring with 26 before Stanford reached the winning target for the loss of four wickets.
Elsewhere, eighth placed Benfleet suffered a 38 run defeat at Hornchurch Athletic.
Hornchurch scored 262/2 declared before bowling Benfleet out for 226.
Ray Gipson hit 69 for Benfleet and Luke Whitbourn 60 but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
In Division Four, Southend & EMT were without a fixture and are now seventh in the standings.
