Some say that Trump could sue the makers and distributors of The Apprentice, but considering just how well-documented his life is, those legal actions probably wouldn’t go too far. Yet, for most studios, not poking the political bear seems to be the safest bet for survival.
Fortunately, there are still those who believe in the freedom of speech and artistic expression, who aren’t afraid to speak their mind and opinions—after all, the pen is the mightiest of swords because it gives birth to ideas, and as Hugo Weaving’s V famously declared, “ideas are bulletproof.”
The Apprentice still hasn’t received a release date, but if the reports are factual, we could see the movie’s release coincide with the upcoming elections.
