Erik Rowan opened up about his motivation to join the Wyatt Sicks on WWE Raw.
In the latest video tape, this time given to Pat McAfee on his talk show Monday, an emotional Rowan talked about the deaths of his “family”, referring to Wyatt family members Luke Harper/Brodie Lee and Bray Wyatt, both of whom have passed away in recent years. The promo started with Howdy asking Rowan how he has been.
“The last few years have been very, very hard. You know I used to have a family. We were unstoppable, inseparable, always had each other’s backs. And one day just, poof, the whole world changed,” he said.
Rowan talked about losing a brother, saying it “knocked me on my a**,” but still kept moving.
“And just when I thought I had everything going, my other brother…he’s gone too,” Rowan said. “I had no more family, no more will. I fell down a well, I couldn’t get out. I didn’t want to get out, why? Why would I want to get out? I felt catatonic, I couldn’t move, numb to everything, numb to the world. And who’s going to miss me? I’m just Rowan.”
He then said that Uncle Howdy/Bo Dallas reached out to him when he needed it the most and he accepted it, as it gave him purpose to help those like himself.
“We’re going to take our broken hearts and make beautiful art,” he said before the promo ended.
Since making their debut as a group last month, the Wyatt Sicks have been giving video tapes to the Raw announce team, which are then played later in the show. Previous videos have shown Uncle Howdy talking to Bo Dallas, who opened up about his brother’s death and how it inspired him to form the group.
