Former NFL MVP Terrell Davis has slammed United Airlines after he was removed from a flight in handcuffs for what he said is a ‘disgusting display of injustice’.
The alleged incident took place on Saturday where Davis said he was unjustly placed into custody while on a plane with his wife and children by federal agents, stemming from a flight attendant giving wrong information about him and his family.
During the flight from Denver to Orange County, Davis’ son allegedly wanted a cup of ice, with a flight attendant ignoring or not hearing the request.
Davis said he ‘calmly’ reached behind himself and ‘lightly’ tapped the flight attendant on the arm to request a cup of ice.
The unidentified male flight attendant with United allegedly shouted back ‘don’t hit me’ before he left the cart to approach the front of the plane.
Davis stated on social media that he was confused by the exchange, as were other passengers who witnessed the events.
Upon landing in Orange County, the pilot requested all passengers remain in their seats upon arriving at the gate, with six FBI and law enforcement agents boarding the plane and allegedly placing Davis in custody.

Davis said he was not given any explanation for being placed in custody, while the rest of the flight of passengers stayed silent, some recording the alleged incident with their phones.
The former Denver Bronco running back described himself as ‘humiliated, embarrassed, powerless, and angry’.
The 1998 NFL MVP was allegedly brought into questioning where it was ‘rightfully’ determined by the federal agents that the flight attendant was ‘inaccurate’ in his accusations of Davis.
The agents reportedly apologized before offering support to Davis and his family upon releasing him from custody.
Davis’ attorneys at Stinar, Gould, Grieco & Hensley called the incident ‘appalling and disturbing to say the least’ in a statement to Mail Sport.
‘We plan on fully investigating the events that took place and are actively contacting United Airlines in this matter,’ the statement continued. ‘Mr. Davis’ statement speaks for itself, and we can all agree no person should be subjected to this kind of injustice and humiliation, especially in front of their children and wife.
Davis said he has not heard anything from United Airlines since the incident occurred.
‘I refuse to stand by without speaking out on this disgusting display of injustice and deplorable treatment by United Airlines,’ said on social media.
Davis also stated his legal team will be in contact with United.
