A 36-year-old Mississauga man is facing an impaired driving charge after a teenage girl was struck and killed in Brampton.
Peel police say around 8 p.m. Friday night a Honda Civic was going northbound on McLaughlin Road North and was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Horwood Drive when it was struck by a southbound Volkswagen.
The force of the crash sent the Volkswagen spinning and it mounted the curb, striking two pedestrians.
A 15-year-old girl from Mississauga was taken to a nearby hospital in life-threatening condition where she was later pronounced dead.
The second pedestrian was treated for minor injuries on scene.
Police have charged the driver of the Honda Civic with failing to provide a roadside breath demand, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and making an unsafe turn.
