Premier League referee David Coote has been suspended with immediate effect pending a full investigation.

The reason? Two videos have emerged on social media appeared to show Coote, 42, making explicit comments about Liverpool and its former manager Jurgen Klopp.

In one video, the man who appears to be Coote is asked by an unidentified man about an unspecified Liverpool game. Coote then allegedly said “Liverpool is s***” and expressed his dislike for Klopp, calling him a “c***”. He claimed the German manager was “arrogant” and “accused me of lying” after one game.

In another shorter clip, the two men filmed stressed the importance of the videos not being shared.

There was no immediate comment from Liverpool regarding the videos.
