The second round of October’s Nations League fixtures kicked off on Sunday.
Here’s what went down.
Scorers: Bakasetas 48′, Mantalos 90+2′
Greece extended their perfect start to the Nations League campaign with a 2-0 win over Ireland.
Caoimhin Kelleher proved the busier goalkeeper in a scoreless first half as he denied Giorgios Masouras, Vangelis Pavlidis and Dimitris Giannoulis.
But Anastasios Bakasetas finally broke the deadlock just three minutes after the restart with a volleyed finish which took a deflection off Liam Scales.
Deep in added time, substitute Petros Manatolos punished Kelleher’s poor clearance before rounding the goalkeeper and firing into an empty net.
Heimir Hallgrímsson’s side remain third in the standings while their hosts hold a three-point cushion over England at League B: Group 2’s summit.
Scorers: Hoskoen 87′; Grealish 18′, Alexander-Arnold 74′, Rice 84′
England bounced back from their midweek setback with a 3-1 win over Finland.
Jack Grealish opened the scoring on 18 minutes with a slotted finish after Angel Gomes sent him clear in the penalty area.
The Three Lions’ best chance after the interval saw Cole Palmer fail to test Lukas Hradecky with a low attempt.
They were almost undone when Fredrik Jensen was afforded the freedom to shoot inside the box but blazed his effort over.
But Trent Alexander-Arnold produced a sublime free kick to edge Lee Carsley’s side towards potential automatic qualification.
Declan Rice added a third just ten minutes later by guiding the ball home from Ollie Watkins’ low effort across the box.
The hosts notched a late consolation when Arttu Hoskonen met Leo Walta’s set piece with a simple header.
