Thousands of people gathered on Dublin’s O’Connell Street on October 31, in hopes of attending a Halloween parade that would never come.
Footage filmed by Hashel Thilanka shows police officers circulating down a packed O’Connell Street and people leaving the area, as the parade was revealed to be fake.
“Please be advised that contrary to information being circulated online, no Halloween parade is scheduled to take place in Dublin City Centre this evening or tonight,” the national police informed Dubliners, while asking the crowd to disperse safely.
The hoax parade had been advertised online a day prior and was supposedly scheduled to kick off at 7:00 pm local time. Credit: Hashel Thilanka via Storyful
