Some weeks ago, Paulo Fonseca’s job at Serie A giants Milan was in scrutiny. That is exactly when the win in the derby against Inter turned things around and now, Fonseca is convincing the club about himself.
Daniele Longo reports that Fonseca is winning over his most stern detractors as well – someone like Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is seen as someone who speaks incredibly well and expresses his ideas about the game in an impressive manner, while using a playing style that is ambitious and in line with what the club wants.
There is the fact that he is now winning games but he is doing so by playing his own brand of football that sets him apart and he’s doing so boldly, not afraid to make difficult decisions like the ones he made against Club Brugge last night.
He is showing that he is the boss and anything less than that will not be tolerated, as seen from how Rafael Leao isn’t seen as a starter regardless of how he plays. Players have to meet certain standards or they will fall behind in the pecking order. Progress is significant and Milan hope that things keeep going the way they are.
