I work from home, so my sweats get a lot of love. But in all honesty, wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts every day doesn’t exactly make me feel my best. I prioritize comfort, but I still like dressing up a bit — and that’s where a polished, comfy lounge set comes in. I’m in love with my Gap CashSoft Shaker-Stitch Pants and Sweater set — and I’m buying my third set this Black Friday, while each piece is $32 off.
The knit set feels like wearing pajamas, but is, in fact, a cozy pair of knit pants paired with the brand’s matching crewneck sweater. It just looks a bit more elevated than regular sweats, so I feel good wearing it on Zoom meetings and donning it to run errands or grab lunch.

The pants and sweater are sold separately, so you can build your own set. When they’re not on sale, the pair will run you about $160. That’s why Gap’s Black Friday deal has me so excited! Both pieces are 40% off. This brings the set down to a much more palatable $96 — or $48 for each piece.
If you want to constantly feel like you’re wrapped in a super-soft throw blanket, you probably want to get this Gap set. The retailer launched its CashSoft pants and top last year, so I purchased a light gray set and wore it on rotation. This year, I bought a black set and I wear it at least once a week. (I’m a little embarrassed to admit just how often I wear it, actually). Now, while they’re on sale, I’m going to get the dark gray pants and matching crewneck.
Gap’s CashSoft line (so named because it’s designed to feel as soft as cashmere) offers other mix-and-match styles. You can get the pants and pair them with an oversized cardigan, chunky V-neck sweater or turtleneck. It also offers other styles of sweater-like pants, like this wide-rib pair or this fine-knit style. Plus, you can choose from a range of neutral and bold colors.
The Shaker-Stitch is my favorite because I think it’s the most flattering, it washes well and it’s just extremely comfortable. The pants have a soft elastic waistband, and I like to size up in the sweater so it fits even more oversized.
I’m such a big fan of the Gap CashSoft Shaker-Stitch Pants and Sweater, I’ve convinced friends to buy them too. (Spoiler alert: They also love them!) But we’re not the only fans — Gap shoppers have written hundreds of happy reviews.
