The fight for survival has begun on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! as the cast settles into jungle life.
Monday night’s episode saw GK Barry become a fan favourite contestant when she successfully took on the “Vile Volcano” Bushtucker trial. Elswhere, Coleen Rooney dished out juicy gossip about her infamous “Wagatha Christie” trial, while the rest of the campmates started bonding.
During one emotional campsite chat, Barry McGuigan broke down in tears as he opened up about the loss of his daughter, Danika, while Rooney reflected on the death of her sister, who died when she was 14.
Among this year’s contestants are N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse. Others include McFly singer Danny Jones, boxer McGuigan and Rooney, who is the show’s highest-paid star in its history.
Halsall will be facing the Bushtucker trial during Tuesday night’s episode following a public vote.

Coleen Rooney felt moved by Barry’s opening up about his daughter’s death, and reflected on losing her own sister, Rosie, who died when she was 14.
“Even when Rosie died, I kept it together for me mum and dad,” she said.
Coleen revealed that Rosie’s anniversary was coming up in January, and said: “She was 14 when she died, she’d be 26 now. It’s hard to lose a child, I’ve always said that… so we’re lucky to have what we’ve got.”

Barry broke down in camp as he told campmates about the death of his daughter, Danika.
“She had leukaemia when I was making the boxing with Daniel Day Lewis, three weeks from the end I had to leave because she’d been diagnosed with leukaemia, they thought she wasn’t going to get better but she fought back and she won it. She had two years of chemo,” he explained.
Revealing his daughter had a second bout of cancer as an adult, Barry said his daughter had “pains in her tummy but she was making the movie, she put it off and went to the doctor, called us all in. Stage four bowel cancer… five weeks she died.”
The rest of the camp then consoled Barry.

When Tulisa knocks over a pot of beans onto the jungle floor, there is havoc at camp.
Declaring the three-second rule, Jane came over to help pick them up, and said: “It’s just a bit of dirt, it’s fine” as they scoop up the fallen beans.
Coleen and Tulisa take the role of rinsing the remaining beans, picking out twigs and grass.
Tulisa said: “This is really ghetto living guys!”

When asked whether she was scared to post her initial social media statement about her allegations against Rebekah Vardy, which spurred on the Wagatha Christie trial, Coleen answered: “No because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining.”
She continued: “That was my worst nightmare to go to court. I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole world.”
Colleen then admitted that she disliked how the trial “became a bit of a joke”.
“That’s really disappointing, it wasn’t a joke for me. No one knew the full story,” she said.

Loose Woman star Jane Moore was speaking about her career highlights when she reflected on her time as a royal correspondent, following King Charles and the late Princess Diana around the world.
Jane explained how the photographers worked with Diana’s team to negotiate getting a glimpse at her, and recalled seeing Diana in a full-length leopard print swimsuit and matching sarong, playing in the sand with William and Harry.
Speaking about Diana, she added: “She was really good at having a relationship with the media… she played it very well”.

When asked about her time in N-Dubz, Tulisa explained that aged 11, her uncle – Dappy’s dad – had said they should form a group together with Frazer, who was Dappy’s best friend at the time.
She explained: “My uncle offered me 20 quid and then I bartered him up to 50.”
Oti then asked what N-Dubz stands for, and Tulisa explained that the band is named after the postcode for North West London.
Tulisa explained that they formed the band when she was 11, but they were signed when she was 17 after years of graft in the studio.

GK Barry screamed out to Ant and Dec when she thought there was a leech on her hand. False alarm. It was a leaf!

Danny Jones was in camp chatting about his band when he said McFly were “better” than their rivals Busted. He didn’t take it well when Dean told him that Busted was more popular with Radio 1 listeners.

Completing the Bushtucker Trial, GK managed to collect an impressive 9 out of 10 stars for camp. What a performance.

Since she was voted by the public to take on today’s Bushtucker Trial, GK Barry is given a pep talk by her fellow campmates before heading down to see Ant and Dec.
Explaining the Bushtucker Trial, Ant and Dec reveal that deep inside the volcano are a series of caves and tunnels which she must search in to find hidden stars. She’ll have 10 minutes to find all 10 stars, and as this is a Bushtucker Trial, she will not be alone in there…

Dean got an awful fright while in the loo – when he realised he was sharing it with a huge spider.
He exclaimed: “It’s massive, oh my god it’s on the move! When people say I’m pooping my pants, I actually am!”
He then ran out of the loo with his trousers down, much to the amusement of Danny and Melvin, who were watching on.

You may have heard of the trendy gym Barry’s Bootcamp, but in the jungle, it’s former boxer Barry McGuigan’s bootcamp.
Barry leads a bootcamp session at the Jungle Treehouse, with Melvin and Danny. As he puts them through their paces with a series of press ups, GK Barry watches on.
“That is the most masculine thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” she says.
Danny then practises his boxing with Barry, and is rather excited about it later, when he admits: “Boxing with Barry McGuigan and doing a workout, it’s like we’re in a movie, it’s like a film set! It’s like I’m Karate Kid and he’s my Mr Miyagi.”
21:09 , Ellie Muir
Mcfly’s Danny Jones also disrupted the tranquillity of camp with a fierce shriek as he attempted to take a cold temperature shower.
His scream is so loud that the others are wondering if they’ll be able to hack it.
Melvin admitted: “It’s making me quite nervous about mine later on.”
21:08 , Ellie Muir
It’s the first morning in camp. It’s to be expected that campmates would have heard the sounds of the jungle wildlife during the night, but what was louder turned out to be Melvin Odoom’s snoring, which woke up Oti Mabuse. Whoops!

Ant and Dec have kicked off the show with a “Wagatha Christie” gag about Rooney’s famous “It’s…. Rebekah Vardy” line.

He added: “It’s just trying to not hurt people’s feelings. I don’t want to do that.”

After the cast announcement, Sean O’Grady has argued that this year’s offering is seriously lacking due to the absence of a despised political figure,
He writes: “The lineup for this year’s contest on ITV looks to be far too nice and is, for that reason, a regrettable downgrade from more recent years, when at least one despised figure from public life would gamely take part in the jungle challenges.”
“Usually, though not exclusively, this wretch was a politician in urgent need of money, rehabilitation or just missing the attention, and the producers were more than happy to oblige them.”
