Videos emerged on social media Saturday that appeared to show retired football player Jason Kelce throwing an unidentified person’s cell phone to the ground after someone calls his brother a homophobic slur.
In one clip posted on X, the former Philadelphia Eagles center walks through a crowd in State College, Pennsylvania. Kelce, who is now an ESPN commentator, was on the Penn State campus Saturday for a matchup between the school’s Nittany Lions and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Someone off-camera shouts at Kelce, “Hey, Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a faggot dating Taylor Swift?”
Jason Kelce’s brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is famously the beau of pop megastar Taylor Swift.
The video shows Jason Kelce turning around and grabbing a phone from someone following him, then throwing it straight onto the asphalt.
The confrontation was captured from several angles. A second video doesn’t capture the initial slur, but shows a clearer angle of Kelce spiking the phone. In a third video, Kelce can be heard replying, “Who’s the faggot now?”
It’s not completely clear based on the videos, which are shaky and chaotic, whether Kelce grabbed the phone of the same individual who shouted the slur.
A spokesperson for Kelce told HuffPost they had no comment on the videos.
