In preparation for the opening of climbing facilities at 270 Climbing Park this Autumn we’re looking to appoint two fundamental positions to help oversee and drive the climbing operations forward.
Located within a rural six-acre site on the edge of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, 270 Climbing Park will offer a selection of indoor and outdoor aerial adventure activities for all ages and abilities. With activities and facilities opening in phases over the coming 6-7 months, the park is set to be one of the most comprehensive climbing gyms in the country offering something for everyone from first-time novices and elite climbing athletes, as well as an exciting visitor attraction for friends and families.
Following Phase One of the project which was the install our exciting high ropes & activity course last year, Phase two of the development now sees the first of our two bouldering areas open this summer with our smaller short-reach bouldering zone open to private and group bookings. Then, in October, the main bouldering gym will open offering around 1,200m2 of surface and over 180 blocs across indoors and outdoors walls. Along with spray wall, kilter board and a training area, this will also be accompanied with our fun climbing zone and dedicated group roped climbing zone.
Phase 3 then follows early in 2025 with the main climbing gym. Coming in at around 2,500m2 of climbing surface this will result in one of the largest climbing gyms in the country with over 200 routes across 17m high lead walls, 15.5m freestanding centrepiece pillar, 90+ lower offs, 30+ autobelays, 4 speed walls and a IFSC comp-spec bouldering wall.
It should all be pretty special and as we approach phase two, the two exciting roles we are looking for to help make the dream into reality are: CLIMBING MANAGER and HEAD ROUTE SETTER.

Deadline for applications for this role is Friday 26th July with interviews taking place shortly afterwards for a start date asap.
HEAD ROUTE SETTER
As Head Route Setter you will ultimately be responsible for customers’ climbing experiences on the walls. Primarily focussed on setting on our two roped climbing areas, as well as overseeing the bouldering, you will be working alongside the team you will establish and maintain the quality of our roped climbing gym, ensuring our customers enjoy a range of top class, creative and consistent routes. You will also work with coaching and management teams to ensure both the bouldering and climbing gyms offers something for everyone – from elite athletes to novice beginners; manage internal setting teams (climbing and bouldering) plus external setters; collaborate on in-house competitions and development plans (Squad, NICAS etc); manage holds orders, hardware and resources including the care and maintenance of holds and volumes.
