Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s on-field Super Bowl kiss seems to have inspired a Chiefs-themed Hallmark Christmas movie, as it’s been announced that production for the film is set to start this summer.
On Tuesday, both organizations and the NFL and Skydance Sports, shared that the upcoming holiday movie, ‘Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,’ will be in the works starting in July.
‘Holiday Touchdown’ will be based on the journey of a young woman, Alana Higman, who ‘is sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s ”Fan of the Year” contest,’ according to a Chiefs press release.
The team’s director of fan engagement, Derrick, is charged with deciding if Alana’s family is a strong contender for the contest, and ‘as the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them.’
The movie will also put forward the Chiefs’ hometown as it will be filmed entirely in Kansas City. Hallmark is also from there, having been founded in Kansas City in 1910.
Actors Hunter King, Tyler Hynes and Ed Begley Jr. are all expected to star in the film.
Hynes, known for his part in ‘The Three Wise Men and a Baby,’ previously appeared alongside Kelce’s mom Donna Kelce in a promo for the NFL earlier this year.
Romance was very much a common theme at Chiefs games last season, with Kelce and Swift becoming romantically linked in the fall.
The popstar also attended 13 Chiefs games over the last 12 months to support her beau, who serves as the Chiefs’ star tight end.
Over the weekend, Swift and Kelce appeared on stage for the first time together at one of the hitmaker’s London concerts.
Kelce, 34, appeared in a morning suit and carried the singer, who pretended to faint, on to a red piece of furniture
The US pop star then changed her outfit and performed I Can Do It With A Broken Heart from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, to the screaming audience of almost 90,000 fans.
The 34-year-old from Pennsylvania ended her trio of London shows with the song Karma.
She changed the lyrics to include a special shout out to NFL player Kelce and sang: ‘Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.’
