Keller Scott Fornes, star of Great American Family’s County Rescue, is dead. He was 32.
The actor died on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, in Eastland, Texas, according to an obituary published by Lacy Funeral Home. His memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11, at Cowboy Church of Erath County in Stephenville, Texas.
Great American Media confirmed the actor’s death in a statement posted on Instagram and X on Monday, Jan. 6.
“We at Great American Media are deeply saddened by the passing of Keller Fornes. He was a special person and talent as an actor, writer, and director as well as a singer and musician,” the statement read.
“His energy and enthusiasm lifted all he worked with here at Great American Media and the cast and crew of County Rescue,” the network continued. “Our prayers are with his family and all those he touched.”
Fornes last posted on Instagram on Dec. 14, sharing various photos of his travels, behind the scenes at work, and time with friends and family.

Fornes played Griffin in County Rescue, which was set to begin production for season 2 this month, per a press release issued in July.
County Rescue series lead Julia Reilly mourned the actor’s death by sharing Great American Media’s statement on her Instagram Stories and a photo of them together. “Miss you,” Reilly wrote.
Fellow costar Kristin Wollett shared various photos from their time on set together on Instagram, writing, “In our hearts. Always. 🤍 Keller Scott Fornes 🤍.”
“Was so saddened to hear about this,” American Idol alum Colton Dixon wrote in response to Great American Media’s post. “We only met briefly during my work on County Rescue, but he was incredibly kind and purposeful with his words. Prayers for his friends and family.”
Candace Cameron Bure also reacted to his death, writing, “💔🙏🏻.”
Throughout his career, Fornes built up various credits with appearances on television shows, including Found, The Walking Dead and Genius, and movies such as The Secrets She Keeps and Project ISISX.

Prior to his start in Hollywood, he earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of North Texas in Denton.

In addition to writing, producing, and starring in his own independent films, he “enjoyed painting, drawing, singing and playing the guitar as well as all types of physical challenges,” such as boxing, his obituary adds.
Fornes is survived by his wife, Margie; his parents; and two brothers.
