Aecom Canada gets a new senior director of highway engineering in BC, Skanska UK appoints a new managing director of its infrastructure business, and Tetra Tech Coffey welcomes a new general manager for East Coast geotechnics in Australia in the latest people moves from across the industry.
Aecom Canada has appointed Faisal Siddiqui as senior director of highway engineering in British Columbia (BC).
Prior to joining Aecom, Siddiqui spent 17 years with the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. In his new role, Siddiqui will be responsible for leading the local highway engineering team, including structural and bridge engineering, road safety and traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, geomatics and surveys, as well as highway construction management and contract administration.
Atkins Réalis has promoted Hollie Fisher to principal engineering geologist.
Fisher joined the company in 2014 as a graduate engineering geologist. She most recently held the position of senior engineering geologist at the company.
The British Tunnelling Society Young Members (BTSYM) committee has welcomed Tiago Dias as its British Geotechnical Association (BGA) representative.
Dias is a senior geotechnical engineer at Geotechnical Consulting Group (GCG), where he has worked since 2020. The BTSYM is a community of early career professionals in the field of tunnel engineering in the UK.
CC Ground Investigations has promoted Dom Foster to engineering geologist.
Foster takes up the new position after recently completing the company’s graduate training programme.
Ground Consultants (CGL) has appointed Frank Westcott as an associate.
Westcott was previously a technical consultant for the company. In his new role, he has become a permanent member of staff. Westcott brings a wealth of experience to GCL, particularly in the areas of brownfield development, environmental compliance and transactional due diligence.
Kroll has promoted Francesca Waldron to director.
Waldron joined the expert services and construction disputes division of Kroll, previously Blackrock Expert Services, as a manager in 2019. She is the former chair of the British Geotechnical Association Early Career Group.
Langan Engineering & Environmental Services has appointed Alkis Gkouvailas as a technical director.
Gkouvailas joins the company from Aecom, where he was associate director. He has a background in rock mechanics and engineering geology, and considerable experience in taking part and leading design teams in challenging projects within the UK and abroad.
Railway contractor QTS Group has named Andy Steel as its new managing director and Alan McLeish as group chairman.
Steel was previously the company’s operations director of civils and geotechnical. He is the company’s new managing director as of 2 April. Previous managing director and company founder Alan McLeish has become the group chairman. This allows him the opportunity to provide a more strategic role within QTS Group as the company enters into Network Rail’s Control Period 7.
Saipem has appointed Mahsa Rahmani as geotechnical engineer.
Rahmani joined the company in February from Geolabs, where she was an advanced and research laboratory testing engineer.
Skanska UK has appointed Andrew English as managing director of its infrastructure business.
English last month returned to Skanska UK to lead its infrastructure business. English previously worked at Skanska for almost a decade, including in two managing director positions, before moving abroad in 2020. He has led Australian firm John Holland Group’s national infrastructure business, and more recently overseen Atkins Réalis’ transportation division in the UK.
Tetra Tech Coffey has made Troy Credlin general manager for East Coast geotechnics in Australia.
Credlin has been at Tetra Tech for more than 12 years. During that time, he has worked across Australia, North America, and the Pacific region delivering infrastructure. In his most recent role he was associate geotechnical engineer.
