The Texas Tech basketball team will not be hosting Texas A&M this season, but the Red Raiders will still square off with the Aggies in a different venue.
Jon Rothstein of College Hoops Today reported Thursday that the 2024 game between the Red Raiders and Aggies is headed to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Dec. 8. Rothstein’s report notes the game “will be part of a quadruple-header featuring one other men’s game and two high-profile women’s games.”
The home-and-home series between the two former Big 12 and Southwest Conference rivals was announced in December, with the first game set for Nov. 29 in Lubbock. That plan took a turn when the Aggies agreed to partake in the Players Era Festival, an NIL-driven event that would net each of the participating teams seven-figure NIL deals for their players.
Texas Tech will return to Fort Worth for the second year in a row after taking part in the Coast-to-Coast Challenge last season against Vanderbilt in Dickies Arena. That was part of a tripleheader that also included TCU facing Arizona State and UT-Arlington taking on Air Force.
The Red Raiders now have eight of their 11 non-conference games set. A home date with Wyoming has yet to be determined and two other games will also be added to the schedule.
