A motorcyclist is dead after driving off the road in a wooded area in St. John’s, say police.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a collision at 7:05 p.m. NT on Wednesday in the Main Road area in the Goulds area of the city.
They pronounced a 44-year-old man dead at the scene, according to a news release Thursday.
“RNC collision analysts are working with the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death,” the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said.
Cst. James Cadigan told CBC News that he spoke with an investigator who said the man might have been dead for 24 hours before police were alerted to his presence.
As part of its investigation, police are asking for video footage, such as CCTV and dash-cam, from the area that might show what happened to the motorcyclist.
