Sarnia police say they’re looking for two suspects after a man was stabbed and robbed in Wiltshire Park early Christmas morning Wednesday.
Police were called to the scene at around 1:45 a.m. for a report of an injured man, according to a news release issued Christmas Day by the Sarnia Police Service.
They found a 30-year-old man who had lost a significant amount of blood from multiple wounds.
Officers provided emergency first aid while waiting for an ambulance to arrive, police said, applying a pressure dressing to a leg wound.
The victim had major lacerations on his thigh and left shoulder; minor ones on his arm, the top of his head, and his face, and defensive wounds on his hands.
Paramedics took the man to hospital, and police located and secured the scene.
Their investigation revealed that the victim had been walking through Wiltshire Park near the Howard Watson Trail when he was attacked by two unknown men. The men struck and stabbed the victim multiple times and robbed him of multiple personal items, police said.
Police believe that one of the suspects may also have sustained injuries.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to immediately contact the Sarnia police criminal investigations division at (519) 344-8861. They can also submit information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.p3tips.com.
