Barbiecore, meet tenniscore—Margot Robbie is at Wimbledon, and it’s the Barbie-Challengers crossover I never knew I needed.
The actress-producer got creative with the theme of the event, wearing an unusual floaty mini dress covered in what at first glance looks like polka dots, but on closer inspection appears to be dozens of tiny silver snap fasteners. The floaty dress featured an asymmetrical design, with a single cape-like shoulder, a slanting hemline and an open back. She stuck with the black and white, wearing a pair of black geometric Alaïa sunglasses, black peep-toe sling-back heels and Alaïa’s Le Teckel bag in black and white. She accessorized with a pair of chunky silver hoops. Overall, Robbie’s was a refreshingly industrial chic take on the Wimbledon white dress code.
Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, were joined by their Barbie collaborators, Greta Gerwig and her husband, Noah Baumbach, as well as actor Hugh Grant, his wife, Anna Elisabet Eberstein, as they all took in the men’s semi-finals on centre court.
This appearance marks Robbie’s first outing since the announcement of her first pregnancy earlier this week, and her floaty dress revealed her baby bump. Soon after the news came out, a source told People, that the producer power couple had “wanted to start a family for quite some time.”
“Family means a lot to both of them and they knew early on in their relationship being parents was something they really wanted,” the source went on. “They’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while but are happy the news is out.”
