Corinthians have announced the long-rumoured signing of centre-forward Memphis Depay.
The Netherlands international has penned a reported two-year deal with the Brazilian powerhouse, who announced the 30-year-old’s arrival on Instagram.
Depay made his name at PSV Eindhoven before stints at Lyon, Manchester United, Barcelona, and most recently Atlético de Madrid. He then joined Corinthians as a free agent.
Dutch manager Ronald Koeman recently shared his approval of Depay’s new destination.
“The level of the league in Brazil is different. So yes, Depay can still be part of the national team but it depends on his fitness and if he still reaches his level”.
Corinthians currently sit 17th in Série A and play their Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg on Wednesday.
