MP govt needs to provide 3.5L jobs in 4 yrs if it intends to keep its promises – Times of India
Bhopal: If the Madhya Pradesh govt wants to keep its promises made since August 2022, that of giving 4 lakh jobs, it would have to give around 3.5 lakh
government jobs in less than four years. The total number of government
jobs promised by the BJP govt since August 2022 was 4 lakhs. After the announcements on different occasions since 2022, only 68 thousand govt jobs have been given so far. The issue has again sprung up and is in focus as CM a day earlier asked MLAs to tell the state’s youths that opening of two lakh govt jobs will be coming soon.The 68 thousand jobs given so far in 2022-23 and 23-24 were through the MP public service commission and MP employees’ selection board.On August 15, 2022 the then chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced recruitment on one lakh government posts in one year. The process could not be completed and an additional 50,000 recruitments on government posts was announced in 2023.In its manifesto for the assembly polls in November last year, the BJP promised 2.5 lakh government jobs in five years. The total number of government jobs promised by the BJP government since August 2022 was four lakhs. Against it, around 68 thousand jobs have been given so far and around 3.5 lakh more government jobs are yet to be given as promised.The general administration dept is the nodal dept for recruitments. The GAD would ask for demands or vacancies from all depts and inform the two govt jobs recruitment agencies to carry out the process.Officials said the process would be sped up after the CM asked MLAs to tell youths that opening of two lakh govt jobs soon. There were 26,18,003 youths registered on the MP Rozgar Portal, as of Friday evening. Officials said that addressing unemployment was in focus of the new state govt and directives in this regard were given in different meetings. Top govt sources said on the matter that what was promised by the previous BJP government is past. The planning is being done to fulfill the promises made for the next four years. A portal is being designed for the purpose wherein updates regarding the vacancy and recruitment would be recorded, government sources pointed.CM Mohan Yadav on January 4 said that providing employment to the needy is the top priority of the state govt. He stressed on making an action plan for providing employment by including sectors like tourism, forest, minerals, industry and service sector, adding that the action plan ensures jobs to the needy from every sector. He asked the officers concerned to prepare district wise action plans. Yadav said this while reviewing development works in a meeting in Gwalior.
